Spam removal guide
SPAM

Spam are unwanted emails, usually adverts from affiliate type companies.

1. Avoidance: Don't leave your email address on any website, as programs harvest these automatically. Don't signup for anything, unless from a reputable company. Possibly use a hotmail address for this sort of membership.

2. Removal:

a. Your ISP can often remove most of it for a small monthly fee, but ask how you can access these emails in case good email is removed.

b. Software on your server can remove spam, there are products that hook into Exchange eg Trend's scanmail. 5 users will cost about £150-200, & then £50-£100 pa.

c. On your client PC, install a spam removal program, for Outlook users, I recommend Cloudmark.

Hoax emails
These give false warnings about viruses, check them out first using my links page
Phishing emails
Phishing are emails designed to look like legitamate companies like ebay & banks, & ask you to enter in your username & password. No companies will do this, so be wary. Check the address bar of the site they redirect you to & ring the company if in doubt.
